Work In Progress

I’m ending my relationship with BlogHer Ads. Actually, if you look to your right, you’ll notice the ads aren’t there, but some other crap is (still BlogHer stuff). That’s because I’m lazy AND I’d rather type than click two buttons to get rid of it.

Sue me.

I’m also selling ad space now. YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT. Special ad rates for small businesses, local businesses and etsy sellers. Oh, and extra special discount if I like you.

After a roundabout of nonsense, mostly involving my lack of ability to retrieve my login-in information, Kelly from Twenty70hosting held my hand, put up with my crap and my 40 Questions About Hosting Vocab and I FINALLY figured out how to redirect the traffic from http://themomjob.net to this site.

Annnnd it’s “working on it”. Hoping it works or I’ll end up doggy paddling through horse crap again trying to “make it work” (I love you, Tim Gunn).

(On another note: Our/HER contest to sponsor a blogger for this year’s BlogHer ‘10 conference in New York City ends TOMORROW. You’ve got a great chance to win, so if you’d like to enter, THEN DO SO. Just tweet a question relating to her service, general internet/blogging/hosting/domain purchas-ing, etc to her and use the hash tag #twenty70 so we can MAKE YOUR ENTRY COUNT!

And even if you don’t *want* to go to BlogHer, their are several runner-up prizes for FREE HOSTING FOR A FULL YEAR!)

Also, I added a recipes page… yeah.

I should be banned from “writing” recipes, but they are there.

For this week, I’m considering doing a post on what is in my purse OR my makeup bag. Not both. And more than likely, just my makeup bag because my purse is a landmine of candy wrappers, snacks for the boys and toy parts.

I may or may not regain control of it sometime in the next 16 years.

And since this is my blog and we all know I’m random, I leave you with this:

Because I *am* special, damnit.

Update: Two seconds after I posted this, I noticed themomjob.net now redirects here. Woot!!

Update 2: I also noticed how tiny this picture is. I recommend reading glasses. WORK FOR IT.

7 Quick Takes - First For The New Blog!

—1—

Whoa. It’s Friday. I’ve got to say, this week has been so busy for me! Last week being Spring Break, no one in this town wanted to take an appointment for the week, so somehow they ALL ended up smushed into the week after.

—2—

You all know what I did Monday. Then Tuesday I went for my LASIK consultation. I KNOW, RIGHT? I can’t even began to express my sheer joy and absolute elation over the possibility of correcting my vision.

In my worst nightmares, I’d wake up in the middle of the night with someone trying to murder/rape/rob my family and I’d be too blind to a) be of any use and b) unable to identify them in a lineup. BUT, in just a few short days, that will be fixed.

Note: to those who wish to murder/rape/rob me (or my family): We have an alarm. A LOUD ONE. And a gun. THAT WE KNOW HOW TO USE. AND animals. With teeth. SHARP teeth. Also noteworthy: I’ll kick you in the nuts. Twice.

I have to do a certain amount of time without contacts in (read: only glasses), so I’m a little concerned about the prospect of migraines in my near future. BUT OH WELL.

The contest for the BlogHer ‘10 sponsorship is going quite well. Kelly is such a wonderful person to work with and she really cares about those interested in her business. It also helps that she’s just SO MUCH FUN. If you still haven’t entered the contest, please stop by her site and take a look around

She’s doing wonderful things for the blogging community!

I also had a dentist appointment this week. I know, I know - I don’t care either. Then we did something? Wednesday? Oh, I don’t remember. Thursday was speech for Conner, and the ReceptioNazi wasn’t there.

I thanked God no less than 10 times.

That link goes to my old blog [themomjob.net] - for some reason, that post didn’t transfer over. Looking into that now.

—5—

I want to start making bread, but I don’t have a bread machine. Any thoughts/recipes? Gracias!

—6—

Last week we went to Birmingham for a pulmonology check-up for Conner. We stayed overnight and went to the Galleria the next day.

First, let me just say that the Galleria has really stepped it up! There’s several shoe stores upstairs that I would have easily signed my life over for (ok, I’d just GLADLY take those shoes off their hands) (forever). If anyone from Birmingham wishes to let me know the name of said store (upstairs and close to Jessica McClintock, Bakers, etc), PLEASE DO SO.

The boys enjoyed the Lego Store too!

But, they didn’t so much enjoy the carousel. Like, at all. Ok, Conner kinda did, but Chase? HAHAHHANo.

My Monday Summary - Pretend You Care

Holy moley this may be a post about nothing. Consider that your official warning.

I did a post for B-Metro today. Which you are required to read now. So go. Then come back. I’ll miss you. And please don’t freak out about the creepy hand picture. It scared me.

(did you read it?) (LIAR!)

And then I worked with Kelly from twenty70 on her contest to sponsor a BlogHer gal for the conference this August in New York City. Have you entered yet? Because you should.

Can anyone else say/type “New York City” without recalling that Ole El Paso commercial? Just me? Oops.

This morning I dove face first into an empty pool known as “Daylight Savings Change After A Week Of Spring Break”. It hurt. A lot. For instance, when I woke up at “7” it felt more like 6, because dudes - it was, only in disguise. It was also dark. Mommy hold me.

But shockingly, Conner and Chase have adapted quite well. They’ve been going down easily around 9:15 (“8:15”), Chase is taking his regular naps starting at about 12 (which is the exact time he went down pre-time change) and is up at his normal time as well. The only thing that’s really changed is instead of forcing Conner from his bed around 8 AM, he’s wide awake around 7:15. Not sure why. Other than he needs to go down earlier when we aren’t in this version of daylightswhatevermovingon.

Chase, dear Lord help me, is climbing into my bed, diaper-free, and whizzing on me (while I’m TRYING TO SLEEP) sometime around 5:45 AM.

Save me?

And then I met my new B.F.F. She says we carried water in jugs on our heads together in a past life. Read her blog because it’s like an extension of this blog and you’ll love it, so go. After of course, you *actually* read my B-Metro piece since you lied to me earlier and didn’t.

I’m onto you.
