Homebirds, sing

The beginng of summer is magic. And every summer that passes becomes logged into my brain with some sortI also learned the importance of rice, silica gel and the hot glue gun. of hashtag and a lovely title.

The summer I Graduated High School… and found life past Birmingham.

The time I realized sometimes decisions are hard and life can seriously blow, but you’ll pull through… hopefully

And then the one after that : )

The one that gave me my first son, Conner

Sunshine, Vacations and the Birthday of a 1-year-old.

The Summer I spent pregnant with my second son

 …

and the list goes on.

This is my Summer of learning to truly figure out this whole “being human” thing. I’m trying to give and receive from every relationship. Not just receive and not just go on about nothing, but to forge through and gain something from everyone and to give one thing I find helpful for them.

I’m not sure which is more valuable, although I’m leaning towards what I gain greatly. However, I still place a value off of what I’m giving. To devalue that would dilute my sincerity.

Of all these gifts I receive, I’m grateful for each and every one in a completely unique way. My brain won’t be full of manilla envelopes in the end, but rather wall-to-wall of oddly shaped packages, every shade of every color imaginable and full of glitter, ballons and maybe some insane shag carpet. Because yeah, it’s a little weird up there sometimes.

I’ve learned to listen closely. My boys and I are communicating on a more personal level and they are responding so well to it.

The importance of intereaction.

The acceptance of differences…

… and the embrace of similarities.

How therapy can come in however you want it to.

The importance of having to make my own definitions every now and then, but the respect to know where the boundaries are.

To respect the bubble.

What will this be your summer of?

I'm An Idiot - On B-Metro!

(I’m laughing) (Do the same)“Can we PLEASE go inside?”

This week at B-Metro.com:

I’m an idiot, or if I were attempting actual reason I could go with the ideology that at the beginning of this summer I was more optimistic and then add on the whole “life happens” crap, but I’m sticking with “idiot”.

My idealistic Van Gogh of a summer, as depicted in this post, has turned into an abstract of a Picasso - chopped off ear and all. And not even the popular works, but rather the ones that people look at with their heads cocked sideways in bewilderment and move on.

My summer is just like that. In pieces and bloody. Boys can do that.
