"How Are They Boys?"
Friday, January 14, 2011 at 1:25PM Conner and Chase are… good? They are adjusting? I don’t know what to say about them. On one hand, they aren’t screaming out in the middle of the night, acting up at school and neither of them have set fire to anything as of recent, so that means they are doing ok through all this, no?
It’s their ages, I guess. This whole divorce process has made Chase’s “momma’s boy” go up to a level 7 I Can’t Go 2 Days Without My Mommmmm and Conner has turned to video games for solace.
Great, I know.
Conner seems to be acting out a lot more, but I think some of that (or a huge chunk) is more so his inability to Calm The Hell Down (re: get the kid tested already, geeze), his hyperconcentration and his lack of the understanding of the word “stop”.
I say they aren’t waking in the middle of the night screaming, but then again - they are BACK. IN. MY. BED. Blame? Their dad. (sorry dude. so your fault)
Chase’s ultra clinginess means he has to sleep with Conner (not a problem) and Conner’s issues means he has to be TOUCHING me (or his dad)… so… Yeah.
A few nights ago, I woke to the screams of Chase (a whole 2 feet from me) and Conner beating the crap out of him. Siblings rule. My guess is some type of fighting dream.
Aside from all of that ^^^, they are doing well. I think it’s finally sinking in that they spend 2/3rds time at my house and 1/3 at their dads. That mommy and daddy will make sure their stuff makes it from one house to the next, but special requests (games, toys) need to be cleared with a parent so they actually MAKE it there.
Oh, and Chase hates “school”. That’s about it.
adjusting to divorce,
hush amanda
