2012
Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 3:15PM That’s right, I just dare put an entire YEAR as the title of a blog. Because. for one, let’s be frank here - I haven’t updated you guys in months (cough) and it’s 2012 already.
And for two, I don’t know when you’ll get another one. Say I do write another entry, and it’s still 2012, then well… all of this is pointless.
Chase
Y’all. Chase is 4. He and Conner get along more and more with each passing day. He loves to sing, his favorite song being I was Made For Loving You (Kiss), and I hate it with the passion of a million firey suns.
Apparently, at Chase’s age, I’d sing Kokomo relentlessly, and this is what I’m considering payback. I challenege anyone to turn the radio faster than my mother when that song comes on.
Chase also sleeps with Conner. In their bed. At night. WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING WEIRD. Fucking fantastic, magical sleeping children.
My flurry of a 4-year-old now speaks in long sentences, can remember crap longer than I deem necessary, and will hopefully start Big Boy School in the fall!
Conner
You think Chase being 4 is bad? CONNER IS SIX AND A HALF. That’s right. BASICALLY he’s 7.
Seven.
facepalm
He’s basically this fully functioning human, but with tiny hands, an inability to understand why he’s not bigger/stronger/faster/wiser, and he’s ALWAYS hungry.
Seriously, I need to be outside right now planting a farm or these male children will eat all of our income.
Right now, both boys are in swimming lessons and Conner has turned into a fish. He also is very passionate about how many school fundraisers he can proclaim we HAVE TO participate in, loves tostada day at school, and flosses every morning and night.
ME
In a far cry from my days with The Mom Job, I now don’t talk about myself as much.
I love my job. No seriously, love it. I work with a handful of some of the brightest, most compassionate, business-minded individuals in the city - if not farther! They’ve taken me in, given me the tools I need, and are hand-holding as much as they need to.
“But what do you do?”, you say. And to that I answer “a lot!”
More specifically, I’m the Marketing Executive for a commercial real estate firm in Birmingham. Mainly, we deal with Class A and B (the larger buildings) properties, tall building being a love of mine. We’ve got medical, retail and office space. Additionally, we also manage many of the properties that we lease.
I can be found beneath piles of marketing flyers & advertising pitches, but not too far away from leasing files and other must-dos. They are training me to help write leases, which honestly is kind of fun for me.
Single? Yes. Stupidly single.
Busy? Absolutely.
Happy? You could say that :)
