The Tale of AT&T and Great Customer Service

I am typically one of the first people to speak up if a service provider/product (especially those that the masses follow) does the EXACT opposite of what it is supposed to do/provide. (of note: I also am the first to praise the wonderfulness of a product/service that I believe is too far under the radar)

For the last few months, my AT&T service has been far, far less than subpar. At times, in my apartment, I could not receive calls, make calls, or text in any form from my cellular device for HOURS. So, I did what anyone would do and complained. They countered with a $20 a month discount on my bill and “offered” me a MicroCell device that would boost my cellular service inside my apartment - but it’d cost $100.

Hahahahahhahahahaha - no.

I’m not paying you MORE money to make the service I already pay out the other end for that fails to work.

That’s where this story would normally stop, right? A tale of heartbroken AT&T loyal customer dissatisifed with her service lost amongst the masses…. so tragic.

Then, a letter arrived. “If you bring this letter into your local AT&T provider by the 3rd of May, we will waive the $100 price of the MicroCell booster…. Thank you for being a loyal customer… We hope this helps… etc”

Free? And it’ll fix my woes? I was sold.

I walked into an AT&T store, presented the letter, didn’t say anything other than “oh yes, it is supposed to rain tonight I think” (in reponse to my customer service rep’s weather question) and walked out with this:

At home I followed 4 simple directions and within an hour I had this:

That’s 5 bars, full 3G and a secure network so I can add other visiting AT&T devices to the 3G MicroCell booster’s network so they too can bathe in my glorious hole-free coverage.

So does it work? Absolutely. My life has gone from being corned in The Corner (as my friends and family began to refer to it) to making phone calls from the deepest crevices of my apartment.

AT&T - you did me right. Thank you. Interested in this amazing little gadget? AT&T’s 3G MicroCell online.
