I Already Made Sarah Cry - On B-Metro
Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 3:57PM This week, I make my friend cry. My bad.
The same rocking chair sleeps near Chase and Conner every night, although it saw more use from
Chase’s nursing years than Conner’s. Conner was more of a “walk me around till your shins start to lock up and throb the next day” baby, but he did love to be held in that chair when he was grumpy or overly tired.
Chase, however, transitioned into his crib way better than Conner. Well, in all actuality, Conner NEVER transitioned into a crib, as he co-slept with us until we were able to put him in Chase’s room.
But a full year (and then some) has passed since Chase was weaned, and the chair has sat in the corner of his room fulfilling one role: stuffed animal holder. It reminds me of their infancy, so I keep it there.
Of course my 5-year-old doesn’t want mommy to rock him, nor would he ever ask. But to my surprise, a certain grumpy “terrible 2’s” child of mine skipped his afternoon nap a few days ago, and tantrummed in his room for an hour before falling asleep around 7:30.
Read the rest after the jump.
