Gleeking Out

I was in a “no good mood” after a day of cleaning. I’m just AT MY LIMIT with the sickness, and the allergies. It’d be SO MUCH BETTER if maybe the Yellow Death had just taken me hostage, but no. It has Conner by the throat - sinus infection and all.

With my bitching rant out of the way, I can move on to tell you that I didn’t want to work out. I NEVER want to work out, but I sucked it up and went anyways.

No need for applause.

Once at the gym, I realized I’d left my iphone (music!) at home, so I sulked on over to the biking machines, plopped my pissy butt down, and started a slow peddle. I was pathetic, but keeping my whines and moans to myself, thankyouverymuch.

Plan: sit and spin (LOL) for 30 minutes, retrieve offspring, go home.

So I plugged my earbuds into the fancy TV Listening Box. First channel - Glenn Bleck. After I cleaned up the vomit spewing from my ears, I clicked to Oprah.

The sky opened up and chirrpy birds flew about my head, y’all. Mother Effin Glee Cast on Oprah.

BE STILL MY FREAKING HEART.

I caught it right before a commercial break with a 45 to 60 second clip of the show singing/dancing/performing and I biked right along. Funny enough, music from Glee consists of at least 50% of my “workout songs” list. Oh, it was glorious.

So I biked and biked and watched and watched and eventually, Oprah turned her questions to the creator of the show, Ryan Murphy. She asked him why he made the show and he gave her a straightforward answer - to put something optimistic on tv because he felt nothing on tv was.

BRILLIANT.

He didn’t expect it to get picked up, much less become the sensation that it is.

As I sat there, listening and biking and longing for Oprah to stop taking so many dang commercial breaks, I realized I was smiling. BIG TIME SMILING while EXCERSING when I was IN A MOOD ABOUT IT - the show, the cast, the creators and everything Glee just makes me giddy.

It’s heart-warming and funny. The creator achieved exactly what he went after - I was OPTIMISTIC and HAPPY while biking 4 miles.

At some point 10 minutes before Oprah was set to end, I looked down. I had biked past my set time and I was… wait for it - EXERCISING EXTRA. Dying to see the last 10 minutes, I reset the bike and peddled.

Here’s MTVs summary: (shrug)

AND HERE’S A live blog (I typed “blow” the first time. lol) of the show. Pretty good!
Here’s the teaser for Glee on Oprah:
(embedded sharing disabled :( )
Two epic moments towards the end of the show:
Matthew Morrison (Mr. S) break dancing (to Bust A Move - which they did on the show last season - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fezdYWwF1xE … sadly, not the video - just the song.)
and
Seeing the show choir from the John Burroughs show choir - so CRAZY AWESOME. The performed “Vogue” and I’d like to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

6 days, Gleeks!

(I had spacing here ^^^, but um… squarespace ate it and I can’t get it back. Sorry)

NO no! I didn't know it was coming on either. I'm just REALLY, REALLY fortunate to have been at the gym where the only play Fox News, Oprah or ESPN.

Ear-vomit is a perfect description of the effect Glenn Beck has on me.

I'm even a conservative (mostly)! He's just a fluckin' over-dramatic moron.

I Facebooked yesterday morning about the fact that the Glee cast would be on Oprah. I had lots of people say thanks for telling them, since they aren't necessarily Oprah fans but are big Glee fans.

My husband watched it with me. He LOVES Glee, and HATES Oprah. Our compromise was that he would hold the remote and fast forward through Oprah's blather.

I'm also not an Oprah fan, and honestly, I don't think I paid her any attention while I watched!
