7 Quick Takes - First For The New Blog!

—1—

Whoa. It’s Friday. I’ve got to say, this week has been so busy for me! Last week being Spring Break, no one in this town wanted to take an appointment for the week, so somehow they ALL ended up smushed into the week after.

—2—

You all know what I did Monday. Then Tuesday I went for my LASIK consultation. I KNOW, RIGHT? I can’t even began to express my sheer joy and absolute elation over the possibility of correcting my vision.

In my worst nightmares, I’d wake up in the middle of the night with someone trying to murder/rape/rob my family and I’d be too blind to a) be of any use and b) unable to identify them in a lineup. BUT, in just a few short days, that will be fixed.

Note: to those who wish to murder/rape/rob me (or my family): We have an alarm. A LOUD ONE. And a gun. THAT WE KNOW HOW TO USE. AND animals. With teeth. SHARP teeth. Also noteworthy: I’ll kick you in the nuts. Twice.

I have to do a certain amount of time without contacts in (read: only glasses), so I’m a little concerned about the prospect of migraines in my near future. BUT OH WELL.

The contest for the BlogHer ‘10 sponsorship is going quite well. Kelly is such a wonderful person to work with and she really cares about those interested in her business. It also helps that she’s just SO MUCH FUN. If you still haven’t entered the contest, please stop by her site and take a look around

She’s doing wonderful things for the blogging community!

I also had a dentist appointment this week. I know, I know - I don’t care either. Then we did something? Wednesday? Oh, I don’t remember. Thursday was speech for Conner, and the ReceptioNazi wasn’t there.

I thanked God no less than 10 times.

That link goes to my old blog [themomjob.net] - for some reason, that post didn’t transfer over. Looking into that now.

I want to start making bread, but I don’t have a bread machine. Any thoughts/recipes? Gracias!

—6—

Last week we went to Birmingham for a pulmonology check-up for Conner. We stayed overnight and went to the Galleria the next day.

First, let me just say that the Galleria has really stepped it up! There’s several shoe stores upstairs that I would have easily signed my life over for (ok, I’d just GLADLY take those shoes off their hands) (forever). If anyone from Birmingham wishes to let me know the name of said store (upstairs and close to Jessica McClintock, Bakers, etc), PLEASE DO SO.

The boys enjoyed the Lego Store too!

But, they didn’t so much enjoy the carousel. Like, at all. Ok, Conner kinda did, but Chase? HAHAHHANo.

Kenmore has a stainless steel bread machine that works wonderfully and comes with recipes. Just look it up and order on sears.com and pick it up at the store (that's what I did.)
