Someone Hang My Curtains
Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:35AM For the most part, I’m moved in to my new apartment. There’s no easier way to trash your credit than getting everything you need to obtain and electrify an apartment with credit-checks in under 2 days, so needless to say, none of you want my social right now.
Or my bank account.
I can’t wait to show you the boys room though! And my living room! And maybe eventually my bedroom, although it’s kinda last on the list. I’d just rather get their space and shared areas ready first to make this a home for them.
I guess the “making a home” process is what makes this not just a move, but a journey. I have them to look after, so I can’t just borrow a couch and go without certain luxuries (I do acknowledge that they are these things, but if I can squeeze them in, then I have) - like the tv and setting up Conner’s Wii. Although, for the record, I’m still working on the Wii because the tv decided to act like a 2-year-old. It went out the day after I bought it, only to deprive me of a full Saturday of football cartoons and then came on for no damn reason Sunday morning around 2 am.
There’s also the things that are a necessity because children are gross little creatures, such as a dark colored rug for the living area. I have no interest in paying these fine people for brand new carpeting when I move out.
I need a drill, and someone to cut the wood for my headboard (that I was in process of making) down to a queen size, a vacuum, a wireless internet connection that doesn’t make me want to bald myself, and some plates, but otherwise? We are good.
All good.
